IN MEMORY OF HARPER LEE 1926-2016

As most of you know, the great Harper Lee passed away yesterday. Growing up, I read To Kill a Mockingbird several times and hope to introduce the 4 girls to the amazing book as soon as I feel they are ready.

Harper Lee paved the way for controversial topics to be discussed through literature and To Kill a Mockingbird and her other works of art have been read by millions and holds a special place in nearly everyone's heart. She was one of the most memorable authors of American Literature ever and will be missed throughout the literature community.

Rest in Peace Ms. Lee and prayers and condolences to her family and the whole literature community that fell in love with her words.

“Sometimes the Bible in the hand of one man is worse than a whisky bottle in the hand of (another)... There are just some kind of men who - who're so busy worrying about the next world they've never learned to live in this one, and you can look down the street and see the results.”
― Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

“You see, more than a simple matter of putting down words, writing is a process of self-discipline you must learn before you can call yourself a writer.”

- Interview with Roy Newquist, Counterpoints, 1964

We have decided to give away a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird to share my love of Harper Lee's amazing writing style.
