SPOILER ALERT:
Rebecca and Paul Scott long to have a baby, but, unfortunately have been unable to. They decide to visit Zerach, the God of Edenly, and ask him for a baby. Zerach agrees to give the Scotts a baby but there is a catch to his kindness.
Fast forward 17 years. Delaney Scott and Micah rescue a young girl named Ariel who was chased over a bridge and into the river. There is something unusual about Micah and Delaney, they have special gifts. They see the same tattoo on Ariel that they have, the mark of the Ekloge Warriors. This group of young adults are the ones who will defend Edenly during the war that Saraf is sure to bring. The Ekloge Warriors each have a special gift that Zerach has given them and nobody must know that they are a warrior, except for their families.
Delaney Scott despises her gift (having visions right before something bad happens to someone) and has always wanted to be normal. Her parents, Rebecca and Paul, do not let her have any friends except Micah and they are very strict because they do not want her life to be in danger if her secret gets out. Throughout the story, Delaney decides to defy everyone she loves, and starts dating Sam, who is a "bad boy". Sam wants to be a Sarafite and tells two of its followers that Delaney is special and will hand her over to them in order to join the Sarafites. One problem though, Sam and Delaney start to fall in love. Delaney hides her relationship with Sam from everyone, including Micah. Sam has a lot of inner demons and struggles within himself, but Delaney makes him start to realize his self worth. Eventually Micah finds out about Sam and Delaney, then things start to go wrong. Sam says something he regrets and he can only hope he can end up saving Delaney.
I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out. Amber Garza does a great job of portraying God and Satan and the good and evil pulling one in all directions. Amber Garza pulls the reader in and keeps the reader hooked. There are so many twists and turns that the book is one that cannot be put down easily. The ending made me wish that the second book was out already so I could find out what happens next. I am honored to be a part of this blog tour and to have been given the chance to read Dazzle. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and will definitely be reading the whole series.
Amber Garza lives in California with her amazing husband, and two hilarious children who provide her with enough material to keep her writing for years. She LOVES to write. Amber has had a passion for writing since she was a little girl, making books out of notebook paper and staples. As an adult she has worked hard to make her dream of being a published a reality. The PROWL TRILOGY was her first published series and the books are YA Christian thrillers. She also has a suspense novel entitled ENGRAVED which is currently available. DAZZLE is the first book in her new YA paranormal romance series.
